48 NEW FORESTERS AND ENVIRONMENTALISTS READY FOR THE ECOLOGICAL RECOVERY OF THE NATIONAL TERRITORY

The Director General of the FIE, Delwendé Davy NAEMA, participated on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the graduation ceremony of the 66th class of students from the National School of Water and Forestry (ENEF) in Bobo-Dioulasso, specifically in Diendéresso . The graduation ceremony was presided over by the Minister of the Environment, Water and Sanitation, Roger BARO.

With the given name " Tou " Faangan " (the strength of the forest) in the national Dioula language, the 66th class is entirely drawn from the 2023 professional recruitment competition for students of Water and Forestry and Environmentalists. It is composed of five (5) water and forestry inspectors, four (4) environmental inspectors, 25 water and forestry controllers, ten (10) senior environmental technicians and four (4) environmental technical agents.

The ceremony, themed " Sustainable Management of Forest Areas and Environmental Rehabilitation of Mining Sites: A Lever for the Ecological Recovery of the National Territory ," marks the official entry into the public administration of 48 new forestry and environmental agents, equipped with the necessary skills, interpersonal abilities, and intellectual resources for the sustainable management of Burkina Faso's forests.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Zakaria ZOUGMORE, the General Delegate, emphasized their commitment and readiness to serve the nation. " We are determined to be active participants in the ecological transformation of Burkina Faso ," he stated.

The 66th graduating class has as its patron Ousmane Ouattara, Minister, Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers, and Dr. Yves Kafando, Director General of Customs, as co-patron. According to their representative, the class's association with these two figures is due to their rigor, integrity, exemplary conduct, and dedication to excellence.

The Minister in charge of the Environment, Roger BARO, paid tribute to the Director General of ENEF and his team for their high sense of duty, their resilience and their ability to adapt to the challenges of the moment.

Addressing the candidates, the Head of the Department, Roger BARO, was very clear: "The Burkinabe State does not expect you to be mere executors. It expects men and women of integrity, commitment, courage, and incorruptibility. Wherever you are called upon to serve, you must embody uprightness, a sense of sacrifice, loyalty to the Nation, and fidelity to the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution initiated by His Excellency Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, President of Faso."

Minister BARO was accompanied by his counterpart in charge of Trade, Serge Gnaniodem PODA and representatives of the sponsors of the promotion, Ousmane OUATTARA, Minister, Secretary General of the Government and of the Council of Ministers and Dr Yves KAFANDO, Director General of Customs.
