AND COMMITTED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE PROCESS
The Director General of the Environmental Intervention Fund (FIE), Delwendé Davy NANEMA and his colleagues had a working session, on the evening of January 16, 2025 in Ouagadougou, with the Designated National Authority of the Green Climate Fund in Burkina Faso, Mr. Nebyida Lamech KABORE.
Among other items on the agenda, there is the organization of the 6th Structured National Dialogue, the accreditation process of the FIE to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the question of the extension of the LoCAL Facility mechanism to other municipalities in Burkina Faso.
Regarding the organization of the 6th Structured National Dialogue, the FIE and the AND plan to join forces so that this edition is a greater success.
For the accreditation of the FIE to the FVC, the two parties discussed the preparatory activities for the success of the accreditation and the projects to be implemented, once the structure is accredited, in order to mobilize sufficient resources for the benefit of Burkina Faso.
To achieve the objectives set with the future accreditation of the FIE to the FVC, the AND and the FIE are in anticipation. They have decided to review the existing portfolio of projects with the aim of identifying champion and innovative projects in order to submit them on time, to mobilize financing for the benefit of the environment.
The two parties also discussed the LoCAL Facility mechanism (currently deployed in the municipalities of Loumbila, Pabré and Saponé), including its probable extension to other municipalities in the country. The idea is to take steps to better prepare for this phase.
The AND during the discussions, the AND marked its commitment so that the accreditation of the FIE to the FVC is a success that brings fruits to Burkina Faso. All in all, the two structures decided to consolidate their collaboration in order to achieve the environmental objectives assigned to them by the highest authorities of Burkina Faso. The FIE and the AND, which have major joint projects, promised to meet next week, in order to take stock of the various commitments and to look serenely to the future.
