FIE AND UNCDF DISCUSS WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON NEXT ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
A mission from the Environmental Intervention Fund (FIE) and UNCDF visited the commune of Loumbila on March 14, 2025. The mission met with the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Seiba COMPAORE, and his colleagues to discuss the next steps to be taken as part of the implementation of the LoCAL Facility in Loumbila.
The discussions focused in particular on the project sheets prepared by the municipality of Loumbila for the second round of funding from the Mechanism. The municipality proposed three (3) project sheets which were amended. The representatives of the FIE and UNCDF recommended that the municipality of Loumbila take into account the observations in order to improve the submitted projects.
Indeed, Dr. Jean Marie SORWEMA of UNCDF emphasized that the goal is to submit climate projects with impacts, enabling concrete results. FIE representatives Donald ZOMA and Boukary KABORE also echoed the same message, emphasizing their organization's willingness to support the Loumbila municipality in improving the projects.
In the same vein, the mission invited the municipality of Loumbila to think, from now on, about the activities to be implemented within the framework of the third cycle of the LoCAL Facility Mechanism. In addition, the municipality was urged to take steps to implement the recommendations of the technical inspection of services made during its previous audit and to provide the desired indicators.
PDS member Seiba Compaore welcomed the spirit of the discussions, which aim to support the municipality of Loumbila in improving its projects in order to comply with the requirements of the FIE and the Local Facility. He promised that he and his team would work hard to take suggestions into account in order to submit quality projects for the benefit of the population.
