The Director General of the FIE, Delwendé Davy NANEMA, took part in a panel organised by Climate Analytics , on 17 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil, on the theme: “Meeting the Post-accreditation challenge: From compliance to impact in resource mobilisation”.

The FIE took the opportunity of this panel to present its post-accreditation action plan, which consists of three (03) actions aimed at ensuring compliance with and maintenance of the standards of the Green Climate Fund, strengthening the technical and operational capacities of key actors, optimizing the mobilization of climate resources, and strengthening networking and the visibility of climate finance interventions.

The panel provided the FIE with a platform to share experiences and exchanges with its West African peers, for an effective and greater mobilization of climate finance.

Also taking part in the panel were the National Designated Authority of the Green Climate Fund of Burkina Faso, the Agricultural Bank of Senegal (LBA) and the National Office for the Development and Exploitation of Forest Resources (ODEF) of Togo.

The panelists each recounted the history of their accreditation process before addressing the various challenges they faced in accessing climate finance. These challenges included the complexity of climate fund procedures and requirements, weak coordination/synergy in climate action planning, insufficient data to justify the climate relevance of projects, insufficient expertise for developing supported projects, low private sector engagement in climate action and finance, and language barriers.
