A MISSION OF THE SENEGALESE ECOLOGICAL MONITORING CENTER IN BURKINA FASO

VISITE CSE FIE

A delegation from the Ecological Monitoring Center (CSE) of Senegal, responsible for supporting the Environmental Intervention Fund (FIE) in the process of its accreditation to the Adaptation Fund, is staying in Burkina Faso from September 9 to 13, 2024.

During its stay, the delegation plans to exchange with the FIE to better understand its functioning, detect the weaknesses of the structure and strengthen its capacities to facilitate its accreditation to the Adaptation Fund.

VISITE CSE FIEAfter a courtesy visit to the Director General (DG) of the FIE, Delwendé Davy NANEMA, on September 9, 2024, to present the objectives of the mission and discuss with him the Strategic Plan of the fund, the CSE delegation began work with discussions with the various directors and heads of department in order to present the expectations to them.

The FIE CEO thanked the CSE delegation for the work already done before emphasizing that he and his colleagues are open and available to provide the information necessary for the success of the mission and the accreditation of the structure. From 2014 to 2024, the CSE assisted thirteen (13) States including Burkina Faso in the process of their accreditation to the Adaptation Fund. " The CSE supports around ten countries for their accreditation to the Adaptation Fund and there is no reason why the FIE should not succeed ," the delegation emphasizes.

Discussions with the various FIE managers will enable the CSE, among other things, to help develop and validate manuals ( fiduciary manuals and governance manuals) for the FIE; collect, organize and label data in the accreditation file.

The accreditation of the FIE to the Adaptation Fund will give it access to funding for the implementation and financing of projects for the benefit of the environment.
