CONSULTATIONS TO MAKE THE INFRASTRUCTURE FUNCTIONAL
A mission from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Sanitation (MEEA) is staying in Bobo-Dioulasso, in the Hauts Bassins region. The mission's objective is to discuss with the various stakeholders to prepare documents relating to the management of the Plastic Waste Treatment and Recovery Center (CTVP) in Bobo Dioulasso.
Specifically, the mission involves taking stock of the CTVP; exchanging with decentralized structures; the community and the CHERIFA association having requested the management of the CTVP and proposing draft documents relating to the management of the CTVP.
The stakeholders visited the Bobo Dioulasso Plastic Waste Treatment and Recovery Center on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, to take stock of the infrastructure. Participants were able to take stock of what works and what does not in order to facilitate discussions and the development of the agreement, which will be accompanied by specifications. This will allow the parties to fully play their role in the operation and optimal management of the Center.
It should be noted that the MEEA implemented the National Project for the Treatment and Recovery of Plastic Waste (PTVP) in 2015. This project, which ended in 2019 , made it possible to build Plastic Waste Treatment and Recovery Centers (CTVP) in the regional capital of Hauts Bassins.
The project assets were transferred to the State's assets in 2020. And, it is with a view to making the Bobo Dioulasso CTVP functional in order to contribute to better management of plastic waste that the Ministry in charge of the Environment plans to transfer it to a player in the sector in the municipality.
